If it's a "no asset case" it's normally 60 days!

In my case, it was in the early Covad days so everybody was adjusting from face-to-face to Zoom. My 341 was on April 20 (Zoom), and my Discharge June 1, 2020. So 60 days for me which for that very uncertain time, was pretty impressive! :-)

There's several steps to a bankruptcy filing- once you file, the court will work with you to administer the case, and ultimately, if successful, you'll receive a bankruptcy discharge in about 4-6 months

The deadline for creditors to object happens 60 days after the 341 Meeting! Once the deadline to object to the discharge has passed, the court will enter the discharge order.

Great question! The process generally takes a few months to complete after filing the case with the courts. Normally, Upsolve recommends that users try to finish the questionnaire within about a week, so that they can move onto the next stage of the process and their information stays current!

A Chapter 7 bankruptcy doesn't involve a payment plan and the discharge is typically entered about 4 months after filing. In a Chapter 13, you have a 3 - 5 year repayment plan to complete before the discharge is granted.
