Hi Baltazar, to be clear, Upsolve provides software that allows YOU to represent yourself through the question and answer process. Here is an article from the Upsolve Learning Center: https://upsolve.org/learn/finding-bankruptcy-attorneys/ Good luck! :-)

Mark's right, Upsolve is a tool for pro-se filers- we don't directly provide any attorney services

Read as much as you can…. That was what helped me the most to be prepared and ready to file. All the articles in the learning center and different posts are a great resource.

Hi Michelle (and Odette) --- I was too. It takes looking in the mirror and telling yourself, "I want to get better. I need this big weight off my back" and I can DO THIS! If you can read and write, you can DO THIS because the Upsolve Learning Center is like having your personal library. Have you ever learned anything on your own? Of course, you have. This isn't anything different but anything with "attorneys" "courts" "bankruptcy" "legal" keywords entering our brains intimidates us, right? Well, guess what? If I can do it, YOU CAN DO IT! Once you get your Fresh Start, though, you need to promise yourself that you will efficiently manage every penny. Good luck! :-)

Are you moving to a different state or just locally? If you're moving out of state it could create some problems. The courts are also often split into regions, such as Eastern and Western, but if you haven't filed yet that likely won't create any major issues. This article has information on moving and bankruptcy: https://upsolve.org/learn/bankruptcy-after-moving/ New attorneys usually have an experienced attorney helping them, so you can feel confident that she'll do everything she can to help you, even if she is new.

Jimmy, thanks for asking! Your attorney can provide legal advice, but no one here is your attorney- we cannot provide you advice on what you should or should not do.
